The Department of Consumer Affairs is available to provide free assistance and education to protect Montgomery County consumers against economic losses resulting from unethical business practices in the marketplace. This is achieved by having the consumer file a written complaint that is reviewed by an investigator for mediation or referral for criminal investigation and prosecution.
Consumer Affairs works in cooperation with law protection agencies on a local, county, state or federal level to expedite a possible solution to consumer problems. Consumers are advised to contact our officeto check the complaint history of a company before engaging in a costly decision.
We are available for community events and have educational consumer materials for distribution.
